Getting started with Drupal is not easy, even for the experienced. Here are two great website management services that we use at Burst to collaborate and develop Drupal websites with.
Acquia Desktop 2
Acquia Desktop is absolutely amazing and a breeze to use. You can have a Drupal environment started just with a few clicks. The program has Drush set up already which makes downloading / enabling extra modules convenient. To get started, first either import an existing Drupal site from your local computer or clone an existing one from the Acquia cloud. The sync is so seamless that pushing and pulling code to the cloud is as simple as a click of a button.
The most impressive feature I love about Pantheon is the backup restoration feature. Users can restore their codebase, database or default folder files with a click of a button! Pushing codes to the Pantheon website is as easy as GIT PUSH. Another impressive feature would be Pantheon’s production server. It frees you from the hassles of hosting and system admin issues.
As a developer, it feels a bit too strange to set up an environment with a few steps but nonetheless these services have saved me many hours on my initial site set up.
