At Burst we try to keep track of all the neat stuff that's happening across the web - good design, fresh technologies, and better yet projects that fuse the two. Google's no stranger to this strategy, but they're really hopping on to white-hot trends with their newest web experience. The Hidden Worlds of the National Parks takes viewers on a journey across the USA, diving deep into the most secluded corners of some of America's most beautiful national parks. Released on the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, this interactive journey combines good design, slick CSS animations, and lush 360 degree video for a truly immersive experience.
Google has also designed a companion app, Expeditions, which lets users explore over 200 destinations through 360 degree imagery and 3d renderings.
Check it out! It's a great way to see something that a lot of people won't be able to see in person - and maybe, just maybe you'll be inspired to plan a visit of your own.
